Mazinger Z is a super robot and the title character of the manga series of the same name, created by Go Nagai. He first appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1972.
The robot is piloted by Koji Kabuto, who controls Mazinger Z from within its head. Mazinger Z is constructed from Super-Alloy Z, a fictional metal that is nearly indestructible and incredibly powerful.
Throughout the series, Mazinger Z battles the mechanical beasts of Dr. Hell, an evil scientist aiming to conquer the world. Mazinger Z is equipped with a variety of powerful weapons, including the devastating Rocket Punch and Breast Fire attacks. Some versions of the character may also wield a sword.
